About Brave New Food

I love to cook.

Like, love, love it.

The kitchen, to put it simply, is my happy place.

I don’t claim to be an expert or a chef, but my love of food and the art of creating amazing meals from scratch have led me to this endeavor.

Basically, this blog will take you through my random adventures in cooking, one delicious recipe at a time.

About me:

My name is Ginny Lawrimore. I’m 29 years old, originally from the mountains of North Carolina, currently living in Gainesville, Florida. I work in social media/communications and am married to an amazing man named Dave (who is frequently referenced in my posts) and we have a precious pup named Baxter and a beta fish named Walternate.

  1. What a gorgeous food blog, Ginny! Everything looks delicious. Love how you’ve done a “fail” section as well. There’s certainly a lot of trial and error that goes along with cooking and baking, especially in the gluten-free world. I’ll have to do some research and see if I can come up with a way to make your pear and ricotta tart gluten and dairy-free. Just looking at it made my mouth water! :)

    • Thanks, April – I’ve been enjoying your blog! (Love the latest spring cupcakes). I also wanted to pass along the blog of my friend and fellow grad student, Taylor, who is running a cool gluten-free blog: no-grain-no-pain.com.

      Happy cooking! :)

  2. I’m really excited to have found you! I just started a new blog “Cappy Cooks” about cooking through “Baking with Julia” and I’m very excited to start. I really like your blog! Look forward to reading more of it :)
